About IACS

Indian Association for Canadian Studies Established in 1985 at the first international conference on Canadian Studies held at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Indian Association for Canadian Studies is a voluntary, non-profit, organisation for persons interested in Canadian Studies. Vice Chancellors, Deans, Directors, Professors, Scholars, Authors, Creative writers, Artists and Research Scholars etc. are the members of it.  It is affiliated to International Council for Canadian Studies, Ottawa, Canada. It is registered as a both a trust and a Society with government of Gujarat, India.


The Objectives of the IACS are as follows:

1 To promote teaching, research, and publications related to Canadian/Indo- Canadian Studies

2 To encourage inter-disciplinary, multi-disciplinary and comparative approaches to Canadian/Indo-Canadian Studies.

3 To outreach new members and the general public regarding Canadian/ Indo-Canadian matters.

Among the ways in which the Association achieves these objectives are:

  • Publication of a Newsletters and an inventory of contacts between Indian and Canadian universities,

  • Arranging seminars/workshops/ conferences and exchange of teachers and students between India and Canada,

  • Periodical publication of scholarly journals and of other occasional papers and dissemination of information available in India for teaching and research in Canadian Studies.
